Saquon Barkley reportedly fully expects to play in Week 6 despite the Philadelphia Eagles running back popping up on the injury report for their clash with the New York Giants on Thursday.
The Eagles did not practice on Monday amid the short turnaround from Sunday’s defeat to the Denver Broncos, but published an estimated practice report.
Had the Eagles held practice, Barkley would not have participated because of a knee injury.
But the reigning Offensive Player of the Year is expected to feature for the Eagles when they visit MetLife Stadium to face Barkley’s former team.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Barkley is dealing with “general soreness”, but has no doubt he will be available for the NFC East clash.
Barkley has 395 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns through five games as the Philadelphia offense has struggled even as they have compiled a 4-1 record.
He was held to just 30 rushing yards on six carries by Denver, but scored on a 47-yard reception.
