MIAMI – Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed in the Atlantic on Wednesday morning, and forecasters are monitoring the system for further development as we continue into the latter half of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
The development of Tropical Storm Gabrielle comes after a weekslong lull in activity in the tropics as we enter into the latter half of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle is currently located just over 1,000 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands and was moving off to the north-northwest at 22 mph.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30.
