It was a comfortable night for Luis Enrique’s side.

Paris Saint-Germain eased back to the top of Ligue 1 with a 4-0 win at Nice.

Nuno Mendes opened the scoring for PSG, the Portuguese converting from the spot in the 42nd minute after a Morgan Sanson handball.

Mendes then teed up Desire Doue to double their lead four minutes into the second half, and the game was over as a contest after Nice’s Youssouf Ndayishimiye was sent off just after the hour following a VAR review.

Late goals from Ousmane Dembele and Warreen Zaire-Emery added gloss to the scoreline, as PSG moved a point clear of Lenshaving played a game fewer.

Elsewhere in Ligue 1, 10-man Auxerre beat Brest 3-0 to boost their hopes of survival, while Toulouse were 1-0 winners over Lorient.

    Bayern cruise past Union Berlin

Bayern Munich maintained their nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund atop the Bundesliga with a 4-0 win over Union Berlin.

A fine curling effort from Michael Olise opened the scoring, before Serge Gnabry scored twice either side of Harry Kane’s 31st goal of the campaign.

That temporarily sent Bayern 12 points clear, but Dortmund cut the gap back to nine with a second-half fightback against Hamburg.

Dortmund trailed 2-0 after goals from Phillip Otele and Albert Sambi Lokonga gave Hamburg control of proceedings, and it appeared as if it would be a day to forget for the hosts when Felix Nmecha missed a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

But Ramy Bensebaini halved the deficit from the spot in the 73rd minute, before Serhou Guirassy levelled five minutes later. The comeback was complete six minutes from time, Bensebaini repeating the trick from the spot after a Hamburg handball to keep alive Dortmund’s faint title hopes.

At the other end of the table, Werder Bremen boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop with a 1-0 win at second-bottom Wolfsburg. Bottom club Heidenheim held Bayer Leverkusen to a 3-3 draw to dent Kasper Hjulmand’s side’s Champions League aspirations. Cologne drew 3-3 with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

    Milan cut gap to Inter

AC Milan are five points behind arch rivals Inter Milan in the race for the Scudetto after seeing off Torino 3-2.

Strahinja Pavlovic, Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot were on target for the Rossoneri, but a Nikola Vlasic penalty seven minutes from time left Milan facing a nervy finish.

Inter face Fiorentina on Sunday, when they will look to stretch the gap back to eight points.

Meanwhile, Juventus dropped points at home to Sassuolo, Kenan Yildiz’s stunning opening goal cancelled out by Andrea Pinamonti. That point moved them level with Como in the race for the Champions League, but Cesc Fabregas’ fourth-placed side can move three points clear of the Bianconeri by beating Pisa on Sunday.

In the relegation battle, Marco Giampaolo’s first game in charge of Cremonese ended in a 2-0 win at Parma that moved them out of the drop zone.

There was a significant result in the fight for survival in LaLiga, as Elche lifted themselves out of the bottom three with a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Mallorca. Second-bottom Levante beat bottom club Oviedo 4-2.

Valencia were 2-0 winners at Sevilla, while Getafe’s unlikely bid for European football continued with a 2-1 win at Espanyol. Elsewhere, Osasuna overcame Girona 1-0.
