Bryan Mbeumo has taken advantage of Manchester United’s extra man to give his side the lead against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils and North London side were going blow for blow at the Theatre of Dreams, before another moment of madness from captain Cristian Romero unravelled things for his side.

After turning away from danger with the ball, the Argentine centre-back flew into a challenge on Casemiro, following through and catching him high on the ankle.

Referee Michael Oliver did not hesitate to brandish a red card, Romero’s second of the season.

He will now miss the games against Newcastle in midweek, as well as the North London derby against Arsenal.

Naturally, United pushed on with an extra man at their disposal, and soon made it count.

A good move from the home side saw a short corner from Bruno Fernandes hand Kobbie Mainoo the ball.

The young midfielder swept the ball into the box, which Mbeumo hit first time.

The ball hit the back of the net, and the Cameroon striker wheeled away to celebrate on a day he was facing his old boss Thomas Frank.
