Luka Doncic has reportedly transformed his body this offseason following his trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers where his former team questioned his commitment to taking care of himself. But some sources within his inner circle believe Doncic was already on his way to a physical transformation even before Nico Harrison decided to trade him.
Doncic hired Anze Macek and Javier Barrio in 2023 before leading the Mavericks to the Finals in June 2024 and then playing for Slovenia in their attempt to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
Doncic’s team believed he would mature over time as an NBA professional and adopt better habits. Doncic suffered a number of physical setbacks in 2024.
When Doncic made his debut with the Lakers, he hadn’t played in almost two months and wasn’t in his best shape.
