Leeds United are now six points clear of the bottom three after another instrumental showing from their in-form striker at Elland Road.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it six goals in five games for Leeds United as they boosted their hopes of Premier League survival with an emphatic 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The former Everton striker has been revitalised in recent weeks and continued his sparkling form at Elland Road as Leeds moved six points clear of the bottom three.

Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring on the rebound in the 38th minute after Dean Henderson had repelled his initial effort following a long throw.

His second came in very similar circumstances, with another long throw by Ethan Ampadu influential.

Jaka Bijol headed on for Calvert-Lewin to make it 2-0 before half-time, and Ampadu was to the fore again on the hour as he slotted home after Palace had failed to properly clear a corner.

Justin Devenny pulled one back from the penalty spot in the second minute of added time, however, Anton Stach added gloss to the scoreline nine minutes later with a free-kick.

Palace end a difficult week in which they missed on the top eight in the Conference League still only three points outside the Premier League top four. However, a run of three games without a win and seven goals conceded in their last two league games will be a concern for Oliver Glasner, whose future continues to be the subject of speculation.

The Eagles face Arsenal in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday before taking on Tottenham at Selhurst Park on December 28. Leeds are next in action at Sunderland on the same day.
