    Jamaica to meet New Caledonia for right to take on DR Congo

    The draw for the World Cup Play-off tournament was made in Switzerland today with six teams fighting it out for two spots in the World Cup next summer.

    The teams come from each of the confederations, bar UEFA, with the two highest-ranked nations in the FIFA world rankings – DR Congo and Iraq – receiving byes to the final. The other four will slug it out in one-legged semi-final ties to determine the final match-ups.

    The winners of the two finals reach the World Cup.

    Forty-two teams have already secured their place in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer.

    Path 1

    Semi-final: New Caledonia v Jamaica

    The winner will play DR Congo in the final.

    Path 2

    Semi-final: Bolivia v Suriname

    The winer will play Iraq in the final.

    All the games will be played in Mexico in the March international window.
