The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to acquire Kristaps Porzingis from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade also involving the Brooklyn Nets. The Hawks will also acquire a second roudn pick, while the Nets will receive Terance Mann and the No. 22 pick via Atlanta.
The Celtics will acquire Georges Niang and a second round pick as they have now unloaded close to $30 million off their payroll over the past two days and are out of the second apron.
Brooklyn now currently owns picks No. 8, 19, 22, 26 and 27 in Wednesday’s draft.
Porzingis is on a $30.7 million expiring contract. During the 2024-25 season, Porzingis averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks in 28.8 minutes. Porzingis missed large parts of the season with an undiagnosed virus. Porzingis continued to deal with conditioning issues upon his return due to the lingering effects.
