At the House of Europe in Tirana, the event “Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future” was held, attended by the European Union ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, as well as well-known journalists and directors in Albania.
The House of Europe turned into a cinema, as powerful and untold stories came to light. In these stories told through short films, bold messages were highlighted, from the silence surrounding human trafficking to the forgotten resistance of women under dictatorship, and the daily battles against stereotypes.
Created by talented youth through the EU-funded project “Breaking the Moulds – Shaping the Future,” these works denounce injustice, highlight courage, and call for a more inclusive and ethical media in Albania.
“I am proud to see that the EU is empowering young and courageous journalists and directors to tell powerful stories. Through these narratives, they are helping to change the narrative, not only for women in media but also for women in society,” said Gonzato.
“My message to them: Keep creating, challenging, and supporting each other. The EU will continue to stand by your side,” appealed Gonzato.
The event supported by the European Union was realized in collaboration with ‘Albanian Women in Audiovisual’ and SCiDEV, which have trained, mentored, and closely followed these talented youth at every step of film production. (June 11)
