Xabi Alonso has the full backing of Jude Bellingham amid growing speculation the Real Madrid manger could be in danger of losing his job after defeat against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Los Blancos suffered a second-straight defeat at the Bernabeu as they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City just three days after losing to Celta Vigo in LaLiga.

Rodrygo ended his 32-game goal drought but a comeback before the break courtesy of Nico O’Reilly and an Erling Haaland penalty turned the tie in City’s favour as Real’s dismal run was extended to just two wins from their last eight matches in all competitions.

Their recent form has piled further pressure on Alonso, who in November was the subject of rumours of a breakdown in his relationship with star Vinicius Junior.

Real are currently seventh in the 36-team table and still on course to finish in the automatic qualificartion places.

However, they trail Barcelona by four points in LaLiga and have won just once in five Spanish top-flight matches.

But Bellingham believes Real have all the tools at their disposal to reignite their season.

When asked where his side have gone wrong over the last few weeks, the 22-year-old told TNT Sports: “It’s probably a number of things. We’re still trying to work it out within the changing room, regardless of what goes on outside. That kind of noise will not be helpful.

“It’s about us trying to figure it out inside the dressing room. I think one of the things that’s probably quite obvious is how we are managing games at the minute. Certain points where we have to suffer, it feels like we always concede and it puts us on the back foot and maybe makes us play in a way that we don’t want to.

“We have everything we need to turn it around. I have full faith this season isn’t over just because we’ve been on a bad run of form. As players, it kills us and we’re going to try everything to turn it around.”

Amid the increased heat on Alonso, the England midfielder insisted the team was “100 per cent” behind the former Real player, adding: “The manager has been great. I’ve personally got a great relationship with him. A lot of the lads do as well.

“After the first few games where we drew we had some great conversations internally where it felt like we were going to be on the back side of that bad form. The last couple of games we’ve let ourselves down.

“No one is downing tools, no one is complaining. We’ll have to take a bit of the s**t on the chin but we’ll have to keep fighting and bouncing forward.”
