Salem, Ore. – Oregonians investing in the Cultural Tax Credit contributed more than $5.2 million to support arts, heritage and humanities nonprofits in 2024, the Oregon Cultural Trust announced today. We at the Cultural Trust are deeply dismayed by the federal government’s recent cuts to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Those cuts will dramatically reduce vital programs and services for Oregonians provided by Oregon Humanities, the State Library of Oregon and the many museums across the state that receive funding directly from IMLS. We stand with our colleagues at those institutions in calling for the cuts to be reversed to minimize the harm done to our libraries, museums and humanities programs.
