U.S. President Donald Trump’s tax and policy bill represents the first, and perhaps last, initiative of his second administration. At its heart, the law would extend existing tax cuts that Trump introduced in his first term while reducing spending on Medicaid. The bill has already been passed by the House of Representatives. If it’s passed by the Senate, the result would be a $2.4 trillion increase in the national debt in the coming decade and 10.9 million Americans losing their current health insurance coverage. How do Republican populists relate to this law? How exactly do Medicaid work requirements result in…

Brussels (ANSA) – The Hungarian law on the protection of minors, considered discriminatory against Lgbt people, violates EU law. The subject of the opinion is a law approved by the Hungarian Parliament in 2021 that introduced various amendments to different national legislative acts which, in order to protect…
I don’t want to sound too paternalistic, but one thing should be said: poor Elon Musk played a game he does not understand. “This is what victory feels like,” he shouted with overexcitement at Mr. Trump’s inauguration event (it is worth watching the one-minute video). He had contributed more than $250 million to the Trump 2024 campaign. He carelessly promised that he would cut $2 trillion, or one-third, from federal government expenditures, before he cut his cutting promise to $1 trillion, and he finally achieved less than 20% of this last goal. His conspiracy theorizing did not help him, as…
For the past decade, the UEFA Champions League final has kicked off not just with footballing fireworks, but musical ones too. In a tradition that increasingly mirrors the Super Bowl halftime show, each year UEFA invites a globally recognised artist or band to perform just before the biggest club match in world football. In previous years, the likes of Alicia Keys, Imagine Dragons, Black Eyed Peas, and Lenny Kravitz have taken the stage. This time around, it was Linkin Park’s turn to shine.Fronted by founding member Mike Shinoda and vocalist Emily Armstrong — who stepped in following Chester Bennington’s tragic passing…
