Liz Oyer, a longtime Justice Department attorney handling pardons, was fired by the Trump administration in March. Since then, Oyer has publicly criticized the administration, including its approach to pardons. The Dallas Mavericks will meet with presumptive first overall pick Cooper Flagg ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft. The meeting is more of a formality than anything, but Mavs coach Jason Kidd put it best when meeting with Marc Stein of DLLS recently. “It’s just about: The sooner the better that we can get to know him and he gets to know us,” Kidd said.
