Ruben Amorim was left hugely disappointed with Manchester United’s thrilling 4-4 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The Red Devils led three times in a dramatic game at Old Trafford, in which they dominated much of the game with 24 shots and nine on target.

Matheus Cunha thought he had scored the winner late on but Eli Kroupi Junior’s late goal saw the Cherries hit back and take a share of the spoils – extending United’s winless run at home to three games.

The Red Devils boss told BBC Sport: “It’s really disappointing. We are really disappointed. Crazy game. It might look like we lost the two points in the second half but I think we lost them in the first half.

“We dominated and created so many chances. We had to go to half-time with a different result.

“In the end we deserved more. It was a fun game for everyone at home.

“People especially at Old Trafford want to win but they want to be inspired to see a team play good football. We did that well in certain moments.

“It was a good performance but we need to be more clinical because created so many chances.”

“Lammens did really well. There were opportunites for both sides. We created more. We need to find ways of closing the games because this happened many times.

“That’s part of the process. We try to do things the best we can but in some moments it’s not enough.”

Iraola: It was attack over defence

Opposing manager Andoni Iraola struggled to make sense of such an entertaining affair and said the thriller was a result of two sides focusing on attacking, rather than defending.

He told BBC Sport: “It’s very difficult to explain because so much happened.

“I suppose it was entertaining for everyone. Two teams that attacked much better than we defended. We played quite open, both teams.

“Everything happened even in stopage time. A lot of positives.”

Iraola added that he felt the handball decision that led to Fernandes’ free-kick to make it 3-3 with just over 10 minutes to play was an error on the referee’s part.

“I think it’s a clear mistake. Above the armband. It’s not a foul,” he said.

“We struggled in the first 15-20 minutes. We made some adjustments but we were losing 1-0. From there I was quite happy with how the game was.

“The last two were massive chances, great saves from Lammens. We take a point. We can use a lot of good things from today but things to correct.”
