A cultural compass is launched by the EU Commission to outline the direction of initiatives in the cultural field – such as a new cultural prize and a network of young cultural ambassadors.
Brussels – The EU Commission wants to introduce a new European cultural prize.
The plans for a performing arts prize are part of the cultural compass that is now being launched to set the direction for future EU initiatives in the cultural sector.
There is already an annual EU prize for literature as well as the EU Parliament’s film prize, the Lux Prize.
Other components of the compass include developing an AI strategy for the cultural sector, a charter for fair working conditions for artists and cultural workers, and a network of young cultural ambassadors.
