The Reds have lost their last three matches in the top flight following a 2-1 home defeat against Manchester United last Sunday but won 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Brentford are unbeaten in their four home games in all competitions in 2025/26 and a second win of the week following the Bees’ 2-0 win at West Ham on Monday could move Keith Andrews’ side inside the top 10 .

Brentford are without Aaron Hickey because of a short-term injury the Scotland full-back suffered on international duty.
Midfielder Paris Maghoma and forward Gustavo Nunes made their returns in a second-string match on Tuesday, but Antoni Milambo is out with a long-term knee injury.
Josh Dasilva hopes to return to training next month following a series of long-term knee injuries and signed a new contract until the end of the season with an optional extra year this week, while fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson played for Liverpool between 2011 and 2023.
“[Playing against Liverpool is] definitely something that I’m really looking forward to doing,” the England international, who won every major domestic trophy at least once and the 2018/19 Champions League final during his time at Anfield, said in Brentford’s programme.
“[Former manager] Jurgen [Klopp] had the biggest influence on me as a player. That was down to his intensity and what he was just constantly demanding of me.
“He was like that with a lot of us – it was only maybe one or two who got away with it. But that’s why we were so successful under him.”

Manager Arne Slot said midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) and striker Alexander Isak (groin) were doubts, and neither feature in the squad.
Longstanding Liverpool understudy left Caoimhín Kelleher left the club after Slot’s first season in charge to join Brentford in June.
“He [was in reserve] for so many years that he felt it was time for him to start playing,” reflected Slot. “He has shown that he is right because he is doing really well.
“And although I haven’t worked with him, we are also going to face Jordan Henderson. In [Slot’s native] Holland, they cannot stop talking about how much Ajax [who Henderson played for last season] are missing [him]so that tells you how important he was for Ajax and… how important he now is for Brentford.”
