    England are defending their title as the Women’s Euro 2025 takes place across 25 days at eight venues in the 14th edition of the much-anticipated tournament.

    Spain, who beat England 1-0 in the 2023 World Cup final, started as slight favourites ahead of the Lionesses, with the likes of France and 2022 finalists Germany also among the leading contenders.

    The 16 teams will provide games every day across the first 11 days of the finals before seven days of knockout-stage matches.

    England were given a tricky task in Group D, facing 2017 champions the Netherlands and a France team ranked 11th in the world by Fifa.

    Elsewhere, eight-time champions Germany met inaugural winners and four-time finalists Sweden in Group C, while Spain’s attempt to reach the final for the first time pitted them against opponents including Italy, runners-up in 1993 and 1997.
