Bayern Munich open their Club World Cup campaign against Auckland City in Cincinnati this afternoon.

Vincent Kompany’s Bundesliga champions are among the favourites to win the tournament in the United States and have been handed a relatively easy start against the New Zealand part-timers.

Auckland are the Oceanic Champions League holders and have been placed in a tough group that will also see them take on Benfica and Argentinian giants Boca Juniors .

    Bayern Munich Team News

Jonathan Tah makes his debut in a surprisingly strong Bayern line-up.

It had been expected Kompany would rest many of his big-name players who were participating in World Cup qualifiers last week.

But the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Harry Kane and Michael Olise all start, as does Thomas Muller in his last competition for Bayern.

Tah was snapped up from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of last month with his contract due to expire.

Bavaria Munich: Neuer; Body, Tah, Stanisic, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Pavlovic, Muller; Olise, Kant, Kane
