A Cristiano Ronaldo goal was not enough to stop Al-Nassr losing more ground in the Saudi Pro League title race as they lost 3-1 to leaders Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a neat finish just before half-time to momentarily put his side within one point of their rivals but three goals from the hosts after the break completed a huge victory for the hosts.

Salem Aldawsari levelled the score from the penalty spot with just less than hour played after Malcom was brought down in the box, before a melee after the spotkick resulted in goalkeeper Nawaf Alaqidi being sent off for two yellow cards in quick succession.

The momentum was with Al-Hilal from that moment on but they had to wait until the 81st minute to find the crucial breakthrough, with Mohamed Kanno poking in a delightful Ruben Neves cross to complete the comeback.

And the victory was sealed in added time when Neves went from provider to goalscorer, wrong-footing the goalkeeper with a penalty driven hard and low into the bottom corner.

The win leaves Al-Nassr trailing their rivals by seven points after 14 games played.
